Stress And Creative Output

Detail of 'Off Kilter' remake
I'm curious, how does stress affect your creativity?  Are you able to power through and still connect to the work, still manage to influence the work in a positive way? Or does it become a dumping ground for the darker emotions that often accompany intense stress?

Perhaps it only becomes an issue when it's a work already in process or a commissioned piece in which the client is looking for something, less dark than what your new stress levels seem to be able to produce?

Stress and creativity, might be a good topic for the Artist Helping Artist show!  I've been enjoying Septembers topics hosted by Leslie Saeta and Crystal Cook.  Check them out if you haven't already.

Wide Open

Completed this little piece but not much else this week.  Been a hard week physically and mentally so I've not been able to paint much, hopefully things are turning around.

Happy to say that, 'Heaven Declares' found its way safely to its new owner, a wonderful Photographer and Digital Artist in her own right.  Very pleased!

"Laughing opens wide the windows of the heart.  Intuition taught me that stressful times often announce an opening, a change, a release and an evolution."  Michele Cassou

As a friend use to say..."that's a good word right there!"
